Sponsor donation as sole income
Just like in many other eastern European countries Roma in Albania have a hard life. Here, also, they are the last to get a job, the unemployment rate in Albania being very high already. For example in the city of Tepelena in the south of the country, Roma-families live in a separate part of the town, accessible by a gate. The sponsor-donations for the children, supported by Child Sponsor Programme are very welcome here as well. Sometimes it is the only income the parents have to provide for their children!
